Lot 1036: Large Vintage Carved Gilt Wood Picture Frame, Ornate Scroll Border, Empty, 38 x 22 in

$49.00

Bring your own masterpiece. This is a big, handsome carved wood frame with a deep profile, a raised scroll and roundel border in warm gold over red bole, and a plain gilt liner inside. Empty and ready for a canvas, a mirror or a poster you want to take seriously.

Frames like this cost a small fortune new. At auction they are one of the best values in the room.

Condition: Good vintage. Solid and square. Age wear and small losses to the gilt finish as shown, which only add to the character.

Size: 38 x 22 in. All measurements are approximate.
