Lot 1018: Large Clipper Ship Oil Painting, Full Sail on Rolling Seas with Lighthouse, Signed, Wood Frame, 43 x 31 in

A three masted clipper ship charges through dark rolling surf under full billowing sail, gulls wheeling overhead and a lighthouse standing watch on the far point. Cool blues, slate grays, and bright white canvas give it that classic maritime drama.

Oil on canvas, signed lower right, set in a rustic carved wood frame with a linen liner. The kind of big statement piece that makes a study, den, or beach house feel like a captain lives there.

Condition: Fair, needs cleaning. Brown spotting and small stains along the top of the sky, a drip type stain near the horizon left of the ship, and scattered specks. The linen liner has brown water stain lines along the top edge and upper corners. Frame has grime on the top rail, scuffs and small white chips. Ship and sea are intact and read well. No hanging wire.
