Lot 1031: Forest Waterfall Oil Painting, Rocky Cascade and Sunlit Canopy, Signed, Ornate Carved Frame, 28 x 40 in

The kind of painting that makes a wall feel cooler. A waterfall drops through a rocky gorge in stepped falls, white water breaking over dark boulders, with a sunlit break in the canopy above and the whole scene framed by deep green timber. Painted in oil on canvas with real texture in the rocks and foam, so it rewards a close look as much as a long one.

Signed in red at the lower right. Housed in a wide carved frame with a cream and gold scrollwork outer and a dark inner molding, a serious frame that does the picture justice.

Condition: Good. Canvas sound and colors strong. Light surface dust and minor wear to the frame as shown.

Size: 28 x 40 in. All measurements are approximate.
