Lot 613: Polseno Oil on Canvas, Victorian Ladies by the Water, Ornate Gold Gilt Frame, 33 x 28 in

$399.00

Three Victorian ladies enjoying a lazy afternoon by the waterside, sailboats drifting in the distance, and not a care in the world. Signed Polseno, oil on canvas, housed in a stunning heavy ornate gold gilt frame. Impressionist brushwork, warm palette, serious presence on a wall.

Condition: Fair to good. The ornate gilt frame is damaged at the upper left corner, where the ornament is cracked and partly broken away, showing bare wood and white gesso. Two small holes in the frame side and scattered gilt rubs. The canvas has some rippling in the upper right sky, visible in angled light. Paint is intact with no losses seen.

Size: 33 x 28 in. All measurements are approximate.
